Project 52: Mt. Rubidoux (09/52)

Over the weekend I found my new favorite vantage point in Riverside. It’s located atop Mt. Rubidoux. Not realizing there was a paved path to the top I sorta trekked up an unmarked path. I got winded about half way up because the path I took was steeper. Next time I’m taking the paved path and possibly with my bike. The photo below would have been tons better if there were more local fluffy clouds around.

Project 52: Work (Week 08/52)

I stopped by work on Sunday to finish up a modeling project and brought my camera. Originally I wanted to do some car shots with a parking structure but it was closed so I settled for a shot of the building where I work. I think the clouds add a nice touch the reflection.

Long Weekend

Well Los Angeles held it’s first annual LA Street Food Fest over the weekend. A group of friends thought it’d be something to try and check out. Only problem with this was that about half of LA was thinking the same thing. The event was packed with lines circling around and around. We gave up and decided to find somewhere else to eat and chillax. We tried The Standard but they weren’t serving food so we stopped by a sandwich shop after walking around for a few blocks. The tuna melt I had wasn’t bad (anything can taste good if you’re hungry enough)

For some reason most of my shots ended up with Quyen as the subject

^ I’d like to come back with a model or friend and get creative with this room.

So I was browsing the web for an idea on what I should do next for my project shot. I came across this blog which details how to this neat isolation shot. I wanted to replicate his all-white shot but I only have one flash and don’t own any Pocket Wizards. This is the best I could come up with. I even tried using a incandescent lamp as a second source of light but the temperature difference between the lamp and my flash made for a confused-orange-tinted image.
