Photoshoot: M3 meets EP3

Wednesday, July 1st, 2009 Posted in Cars, Personal | No Comments »

After the Socal Euro Meet Giancarlo and I decided to take his white stallion and my white egg out for a photoshoot. Location: UCSD parking structure, near the supercomputer center/RIMAC. I was super excited because I’ve been wanting to do some parking garage shots. I think the M3 is more photogenic than the EP3, but the EP has a bigger smile.

SoCal Euro Meet

Drove down to San Diego to spend time with the Bruschi’s and attend the SoCal Euro Meet. It was held at Qualcomm Stadium. Good tun out of cars, most of which I cannot afford. There were a few that I wouldn’t mind having in my future garage but I think I’m too deeply rooted in JDM gravy to switch.

^”Hey GC is that a spot of wax you missed?” :D

Dr. Benjamin Wong

It’s been so long since I last posted I almost forgot the steps it takes to make post. Luckily I’ve done it enough to remember.

In three weeks I made two trips to San Diego to celebrate Ben Wong’s successful journey in becoming a graduated PhD. I was lucky enough to make the first trip down to SD because I was let out early from my jury duty service, otherwise I would have missed Ben’s dissertation defense which was held at UCSD. While I was there I was surprised to see how much UCSD has changed in the six years since I graduated. Price Center has nearly doubled in size.

I went down to SD again to watch Ben’s graduation ceremony and then witness the Lakers become the NBA Finals Champions. Lakers! I also got to take some photos of Alda’s pomeranian whom loves to play tug-o-war with his toy soccer ball.

El Toro Autocross

This weekend I went to my first autocross event in El Toro. I say first because now I plan on attending more. I had a lot of fun although I was on the slow lineup of cars. It doesn’t help that I’m basically stock compared to the others cars that were there. I did hit a few cones through some of the slaloms they had setup but overall I think I did well for my first autocross. The next time I go I really want to have a set of better tires which means I’d need a new set of rims too. Another expensive hobby brewing…

I took one shot of the grid area at 7am before the event got started.

FastStone Viewer

For those who works with lots of photos, such as photographers, I recommend trying out FastStone Viewer. It’s much quicker and more powerful than the Windows Picture and Fax Viewer and you can’t beat free. I believe it only works on Windows based machines so if you fall into this category then check it out.
