Project 52: Eve (Week 06/52)

So I was browsing the web for an idea on what I should do next for my project shot. I came across this blog which details how to this neat isolation shot. I wanted to replicate his all-white shot but I only have one flash and don’t own any Pocket Wizards. This is the best I could come up with. I even tried using a incandescent lamp as a second source of light but the temperature difference between the lamp and my flash made for a confused-orange-tinted image.

Karen’s Birthday in Napa

Wednesday, February 3rd, 2010 Posted in Personal | 10 Comments »

Happy Birthday Karen! I won’t say how old Karen is but you may be able to figure it out as you scroll through the photos below.

A big group of friends stayed in an even bigger house in Napa over the weekend for wine tasting (you know, to celebrate a birthday like old people). I haven’t been to Napa, but I think it’s gonna be tough to top my first visit. It was so nice to meet and interact with everyone.

Make sure to check out the sequence (sorta) shots at the end  .

P.S. Yes, the food was delicious from Wine Valley Catering.

^ Because the main house wasn’t big enough it came with a separate cottage.
^ Even with a ginormous house, Julia managed to bump her head.
^ Price Is Right at Costco.
^ Winner winner, sike.
^ You had to be there to understand
^ Gondola ride up to the winery?
^ Keep it level Q, keep it level.

Project 52: Snow (Week 04/52)

Last week I got a little reminder of what it must feel like in Seattle with all the rain. I guess El Niño is off to a good start. Socal even had a few tornado warnings  As soon as the clouds moved on though, a visible blanket of white powder was left behind on the mountains. Chris Le helped me with this week’s photos as we headed to the slopes of Mountain High.

Project 52: Rain (Week 03/52)

For the next few days all there will be is rain so the forecast says. So in light of what is to come I have taken a photo to represent how my days this week will typically look. Coming off my recent trip to Mammoth I hope that the end of my week looks more like snow under a snowboard.
